So, if you hadn't heard I started a new job this week. I am the administrative assistant at Fellowship International Mission, a missionary agency in Allentown. My primary duties are to handle the mail and phones and to assist the bookkeeper with the donor checks and receipts. They will be training me over the next few years to take over bookkeeping when the current one retires. I gotta say, I never saw myself doing bookkeeping. But I did pretty well in accounting 101 in college, and as Marielle and Ben have pointed out to me, if we do end up owning our own business someday, that will be a very hand skill indeed!
Plus, I love working for a cause rather than pandering somewhat questionable products to good causes. I had always wished when I was calling non-profits for Protica that I was on the other end of that line. Everyone in the office is so great, and for as shy as I am I feel comfortable around them.
And, this means I get my evenings, weekends and holidays again! And money to pay for more than loans and bills! I can't tell you what a weight that is off of both our shoulders. This job came just a few months before we would've had to bail out.
We are so grateful to the wonderful ways in which God answers prayer.
